I feel it still, b'tween my finger tips; After almost every meal, 'twas kissed by my lips; As a kid I thought, it had only one use; Only for me to hold, it was let loose; It was always in my reach, easy for me to hold; Unless when for few days, it used to cover the gold; of her hair, when she had another role, to play that is of a daughter- in- law, When came my grandparents and her parents-in-law; All those moments pass my mind, at the speed of a blink; each time, it used to serve as the connecting link; between mother-daughter, yesterday and today; that touch is in my fingers, and is here to stay... -- Kavita Misra
