Do we need this cinema ?

Do we need such cinema, when the lead hero on screen is shown smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol, and, in films made in the name of equality, engaging in violence and misbehavior toward women.

Do we need this cinema ?

Do you like the first scene of the movie starts from a brutal murder and floating blood all around?

Really!! is this the cinema we need?

There was a time when cinema was seen as an important source of inspiration. People, especially the younger generation, would get inspired by the characters portrayed on screen and adopt those traits in their own lives, because the characters themselves were written and presented that way. Films and their stories were mostly centered around opposing social evils and were steeped in simple living. The roles, dialogues, and even the music and lyrics of actors, actresses, and other protagonists were such that even today, people prefer humming old songs.

Because of their emotion and meaningful lyrics, some songs are still so timeless that modern producers and directors entertain audiences by presenting them as remixes in their films. Costumes and character portrayals were neither vulgar nor filled with the excessive profanity that is crammed into today’s films. You can’t watch movies with children because such indecent language is used that the coming generation will learn and use the same language — after all, it’s said that children learn more by watching than by reading. Apart from a few rare actors, actresses, and directors today, most people don’t even seem worthy of acting, let alone being worth emulating.

When the lead hero on screen is shown smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol, and, in films made in the name of equality, engaging in violence and misbehavior toward women — and surprisingly, the youth even like such films — what conclusion can we draw? That for the indecent and violent incidents we see in our homes and surroundings, we and these stories are somewhere responsible. Because they make anything in the name of cinema, but the bigger fault lies with those who watch these films and then imitate them. To some extent, the crude scenes shown in these films are responsible for the growing alcohol and drug culture, which appeals to the youth, but they don’t realize that these very things drag their future into darkness.

Yes, there are still some directors and actors who believe in making good cinema. There are also good stories that are truly inspiring — whether they are about patriotism, raising a voice against social evils, or portraying strong female characters.

We need cinema like that — simple yet strong, clean and inspiring — because in our country, cinema is not just a source of entertainment but also a medium to change the outlook of millions of lives.
