The current COVID situation has impacted a lot on small holder farmers. The small holder farmers of India are the most critical resource and crucial in the whole food chain system. The COVID-19 pandemic has attacked the food security.

Though the pandemic is still on, the farmers has to work and has no other choice as half of the Indian population depends on agriculture livelihood. The major food staples such as rice, wheat and pulses is a global share that comes from India.

The farmers faces several risks every year such as scarcity of water, low rainfall, several debts, etc. and the current pandemic has dropped or put in more challenges to them. The lockdown in the country started at the time when it was the harvesting season for winter crops. This lead to shortage of workers/resources and equipment's which are rented by the farmers as purchasing them is costly.

Most Indian's have their heroes as some Bollywood/Hollywood actors/actresses, but our real heroes are the farmers and the soldiers of India. It is very important to get them in notice, because we are and must be thankful to all the farmers for working hard and providing us food staples no matter what's the situation.
