Me and a friend were once caught stealing sweets from a nearby petty shop And the shop keeper complained to our respective parents. That’s when my friend’s Mother told us that we will be sent to Hell, for our bad behaviour and if we continued stealing, the punishment in Hell gets worse. We were just 6years old then.

Many years later, after a lot of research into these things, one fine day, a thought struck my mind, which kind of blew my mind infact. Who first created Heaven and Hell? Was it God? Like we read in many scriptures and Epics. Or was it just made up by a really smart man?.

My belief or my perspective is that a really smart man thousand of years ago, probably an emperor or a King or a Godman (cause people listen to everything he says) made this concept of Heaven and Hell to control his people.

Imagine if we never had a concept of punishing the criminals, wont there be a rise in burglary, murder and other crimes?. Or if we never had Nobel prizes, Oscars or any awards, will people strive harder in their lives to achieve them?. It will all be chaotic and people will do as they wish, without worrying about consequences or hurting another person.

In conclusion, Heaven is a concept made to lure people into thinking that they are bound to get higher benefits in their after life, if they served a better life and were kind to everyone. So that in the greed for a luxurious afterlife, people lived a fair and just life on earth.

Hell is a similar concept to invoke fear in the hearts and minds of people, in order to reduce crimes. So the constant fear of being fried in oil in the afterlife scares the most of people and obligates them to lead a peaceful life and do only good to others.

However, if people show a little kindness towards each other, either for their benefits or for their betterment, it’s still good.
