Many more such bizarre hashtags have been used in the recent past and people were ready to take risks of any level to be a part of a certain hashtag or challenge.

We have heard about a lot of people who have died just trying to take a selfie! In fact, according to surveys the number of deaths caused by selfies are more than deaths caused by shark attacks. People want to click pictures over the hill, under the water, inside a lion’s mouth? God knows where else!.

So the question is, why are we so eager to be a part of such social media challenges? One of the main reasons could be insecurity and the feeling of being left out or going unnoticed amongst a group. We all want to be accepted by the society, which has become such an obsession that we crave for likes, comments and basically acceptance from others.

Sometimes it ends up becoming fatal. Mostly for teenagers, who are depressed, lack confidence and some who just do anything to get a buzz out of it. They end up taking every ridiculous social media challenges that comes their way without analysing the severity of it.

So, please do not lose 50years of Beautiful life that lies ahead of you for just 50 seconds of a video challenge. Not everything needs to be done to please the society. Live your life the way you want, even if it means your friends won’t accept you as a part of their group or even if you just get a single “LIKE” for being yourself.
