What is halloween? History and story of halloween day


Halloween Day is a Christian festival, celebrated on the last Sunday of October. There are different types of festivals of different religions such as Holi, Rakhi, Dussehra and Diwali among Hindus, Independence Day, Republic Day etc. as national festivals and many other festivals are celebrated, Eid-ul-Fitr in Islam , Bakrid, Muharram etc. and in Sikhs like Vaisakhi, Gurunanak Jayanti etc. many kinds of festivals are celebrated in Christians also like Christmas, Good Friday and Easter and the same There is also a festival Halloween Day. This festival is mostly celebrated by people from America, England and European countries, but this festival has started from Ireland and Scotland.

Halloween Day History


According to history, about 2000 or more years ago, the famous religious festival 'All Sets Day' was celebrated on 1 November in the countries of Northern Europe. But according to some other sources, the history of Halloween was related to the ancient Celtic festival called Samhain. People celebrating Gallic traditions on this day celebrate this festival and it is the last day of the harvest season and from this day the cold season begins. They believe very much that the souls of the dead rise on this fixed day and appear on the earth and create problems for the living souls. To ward off these evil spirits, people wear demon-like clothes. Apart from this, the bonfire is burnt and the bones of dead animals are thrown in it. Modern Irish, Welsh and Scots people are said to have descended from the Celtic people as their Gallic languages.


It is also called All Saints Day, which is celebrated on 1 November, which was created by Christians for the conversion of pagans. Idols were worshiped at this festival, but some Pops tried to reconcile it with other Christian faiths, and the result was that All Saints Day and Halloween Day began to be celebrated on the same day.

Tricks and treating


This is a very simple way of celebrating Halloween Day, in which some people wear scary clothes, and people go from house to house and give some candy as gifts. On this day, children go from house to house carrying a pumpkin shaped pumpkin and they ask the owner of the house that trick or treat? During this, some people get scared as ghosts, some distribute candies and celebrate happiness.

On this day, people wear different types of costumes which are according to the culture of this festival. On this day, people's clothes are like demons, devils, ghosts, vampires, graeme reapers, monsters, mummies, skeletons, vampires, warriors, werewolfs and chudayals etc. And people scare others by wearing such clothes.


By making Jack O'Lantern


According to Irish folklore, it is customary to produce Jack O'Lantern on Halloween. People carve eyes, nose and mouth in hollow pumpkins, then place candles inside it, and make their face scary. After this the carved pumpkin is collected and buried. 


Sports and other activities


On this day people play a lot of games at a Halloween day party, the most played of which is dunking or apple bobbing which is called duking in Scotland. In which the apple is floated in a tub or large basin of water and then the participants have to remove it with their teeth. Apart from this, many games are also played. There are also some traditional activities on Halloween such as prophecy. According to this activity and to find out about your future husband or wife, make apples in a long strip, after which toss it and peel it on someone's shoulder. If the peel falls on the ground in the shape of a letter, then it is said that it is the first letter of his partner's name.


This is a different type of activity that virgin girls play. Apart from this, many other sports and activities are played, in one of which they believe that when they stare in a dark room in front of the glass for a long time, they believe that their future companions in the glass 'S face appears.

Apart from this, in today's time, people celebrate Halloween Day as a fun, in earlier times idols of dead people were worshiped on this day, but in today's time people celebrate this festival by doing many sports and activities.
