Destructive bets

Shakuni informs Yudhishthira that the sheets for the game have been laid and Duryodhana has invited him to play after the traditional skilful greeting and greeting.

Yudhishthira initially said, "Rajan! Gambling is bad. Victory is not achieved because of valor and merit (qualities) in gambling. It is a game of coincidence (luck). The ancient sage sages have condemned it, as it has the scope of deceit. For Kshatriyas, winning in the battlefield is the best game. "

But Yudhishthira loved to gamble. His mind wanted to gamble. There was a struggle of intellect and desire within him.

Chatur Shakuni realized his weakness and said, "What is wrong in this game?" What exactly is war? What is the debate even among scholars? The scholar defeats the ignorant. Everywhere the better man wins. It is only a test of power or skill, and there is nothing wrong in that. As far as the outcome is concerned, in every task, the smartest defeats the novice and the same happens in the dice game. But do not play if you are afraid, but do not present meaningless arguments worn out.

Yudhishthira asked, "Who will play with me?" Duryodhana replied, "I will put wealth and diamonds and pearls for the bet and Shakuni Mama will throw dices on my behalf." Yudhishthira could have defeated Duryodhana in the game of Chaucer or Dansa, but Shakuni was the expert of this game. So he hesitated. He said, "I find it unfair for anyone to gamble for the other." This is not usually the case. It should be considered. After that the game should be started. Duryodhana did not answer Yudhishthira's objection. .

Shakuni sarcastically, you are making excuses again. Yudhishthira's face turned red and he cautiously gave up, saying, "I will play." The dice board was laid. Players from both sides, Duryodhana, Shakuni and Yudhishthira and other Pandu sons sat face to face. Shakuni started playing with dice. He raised the dice. Yudhishthira did not oppose Shakuni. Destroyer game started.

The game room was filled with people. Drona, Kripacharya, Bhishma, Vidur and Dhritarashtra were all sitting there. They were thinking that the outcome of the game would not be good. However, he and the king gathered in the hall were watching the game with great interest.

Yudhishthira placed gold, silver, chariots, horses at the first stake. He loses constantly. When they all lost, they put their servants at stake. After defeating them, they put elephants and army at stake. They also lost to him. The dices used to follow the gesture of Shakuni.

Yudhishthira planted and lost cows, sheep, cities, citizens and all his own at stake. They put jewelery and clothes on themselves and their brothers' bodies at stake and lost them as well. Luck was not supporting them or Shakuni's cunning was spoiling their game. Yudhishthira lost everything. Shakuni asked, "Do you have anything else you can stake?"

Yudhishthira first bets and loses his brother Nakula Sahadeva. He then betrayed Arjuna, Bhima and himself and lost them when Shakuni was sarcasted. After this Shakuni took the names of the five Pandavas aloud and said that they are all my slaves now.

The gathering continued to watch it silently. Only Shakuni turned towards Yudhishthira and said that you still have a gem which you can become independent by placing it at stake. Why don't you continue playing with your wife Draupadi at stake?

Yudhishthira said in dismay, without thinking, "I place Draupadi at stake." The silence where the elders of the Kuru dynasty were sitting in the meeting was quiet. Some people expressed feelings of deep sorrow and anger. Some started crying, some started to sweat and some thought that the end of the world had come.

Shakuni threw the dice and shouted, "I won." Duryodhana, his brother and Karna shouted happily. Only Yuyutsu bowed his head in shame and took a cold breath. Duryodhana turned to Vidur and said, "Go bring Draupadi, the beloved wife of the Pandavas. Now she will clean our house. "

Vidur said, "Have you gone mad calling your destruction?" You are hanging on a bottomless pit with a thin thread from where it will not take long to fall. You are not seeing him drunk with success. "

After denouncing Duryodhana, he addressed everyone and said, "Draupadi can never be a maid because Yudhishthira lost himself and lost the right to stake Draupadi. He could not bet anyone by losing his freedom and all his rights. I see the destruction of the Kauravas is near. By rejecting the advice of friends and well-wishers, the sons of Dhritarashtra are rising in the path of hell. "

Duryodhana was annoyed to hear Vidur's words and said to his charioteer Pratami, "Vidur burns from us and is afraid of Pandavas. But you are brave. Go and get Draupadi immediately. "
